My bike tour in Tuscany (Italy)
From the 17th to 25th of May, I have been to the beautiful Tuscany (Italy) to ride my bike for seven days straight, riding a total of 811 kilometers through the hills.
I´ve published two articles on the Futurumshop blog. The first article was about my preparation and the second article was about the trip itself. I was really keen to use a GPS in Italy, so I was lucky that Futuromshop provided me a GPS from Garmin, the Edge Touring Plus Europa. It was a great addition to my rides due to the data about my current position when I was attacking hills and which direction I had to take in an unfamiliar area.
A picture says more than a thousand words, so I have made a collection of my favorite photo´s that will give an impression of my adventure.
We had a group of 70 people in total.
Our daily stop in the morning to get some coffee
Attacking hills (again)
Beautiful view of Pitigliano after riding the whole day. Our final climb was all the way up to our hotel.
Some off-road riding here and there
The most amazing view during the whole trip was at Volterra in the morning
World´s most beautiful square in Siena
A challenging road. Again on of the weird things you come across in a trip like this. Seeing so many things in such a short time.
At the top of our final climb looking at the sea
As always, stopping by at a local restaurant for a coke and panini
My first climb ever, 1734 meters. Proud I made it.
